1. INTRODUCTION
artistsdirectory.co.uk has been created in good faith with the aim of becoming a
definitive one-central-source internet showcase directory and future archive for
current UK 2D & 3D Visual Artists.
When registered, it is an aptly named and superb user friendly website platform
for you to showcase and create awareness of your work, profile, and any contact
details you choose to have showing to viewers of the website via having total control
in easily creating managing changing and updating all of your registered and viewable
images and details at any time by using your registered email address and password
to login to your 'personal home page' from where you access the 'account steps'
of your content management system within.
Once initially created via your 'account steps', your viewable introductory 'strip-profile'
listing, main 'gallery/profile page' and any 'extra gallery pages' will be permanently
visible on the website in their last updated and current state unless you should
ever wish to temporarily 'hide' all of those viewable details at any time or want
to permanently delete yourself from the website.
2. FREE REGISTRATION
Free for life registration with no future fees (unless at any time purchasing
optional 'extra gallery pages') includes your content management system and
viewable 'introductory strip-profile listing' and 'main gallery/profile page'.
3. OPTIONAL EXTRA GALLERY PAGES
The current price for optional 'extra gallery pages' may change and nominally
increase from time to time depending on the economic climate and future
administration costs of the website as it grows. (For the current price, see
paragraph seven under the heading 'creating your viewable details' on the 'about
artistsdirectory' page.)
4. NO AGENT OR COMMISSION FEES
When registered, artistsdirectory.co.uk has no involvement if you are commissioned
or sell any work through being contacted via the website and therefore charges no
agent or commission fees.
5. REFUNDS
Any purchased optional 'extra gallery pages' will be non refundable unless due
to special circumstances at the sole discretion of artistsdirectory.co.uk
6. WHO CAN REGISTER
Registration on artistsdirectory.co.uk is open to all UK 2D & 3D Visual Artists
across the spectrum and regardless of artistic status from competent amateur, current
student, semi professional and professional through to known professional (subject
to sections 13 and 14 below) that are involved in producing fine, commercial or
decorative artforms that relate in any way (subject to section 13 below) to any
of the different artforms as listed on the home page.
Registration is also open to those outside of the UK that may have some kind of
UK connection and feel it would be beneficial to them in registering and showcasing
their work on the artistsdirectory.co.uk website.
7. YOUR REGISTERED NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS
You may only register as an 'individual' under your own personal or 'Artist'
name and personal email address and showing your own personal work and not that
of a company or organisation name or email address.
Therefore you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the
right to delete anyone registered that disregards this.
8. YOUR REGISTERED EMAIL ADDRESS
We ask that you always keep your registered email address up to date for contacting
purposes in relaton to the website. Should you ever change your email address, you
can update it at any time via your 'registered personal details' when logged in.
Note: If you choose to have your email address showing as a live link on your 'gallery/profile
page' when registering and later decide not to, you can switch off/delete the viewable
link at anytime and vice versa also via your 'registered personal details' when
logged in.
9. YOUR REGISTERED PASSWORD
Your password is personal and private to you and therefore you acknowledge and agree
that you shall be solely responsible for any actions under your password. Should
you ever wish or need to change your password, you can do so at any time via your
'registered personal details' when logged in.
10. PERSONAL WEBSITE LINKS
When registered, you may only show a link to a website on your 'gallery/profile
page' that is personal to you, or personal to yourself and a limited number of
colleagues.Therefore you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk
reserves the right to delete any website links of those registered that
disregard this.
Note: You can add/remove a personal website address link at any time via your 'registered
personal details' when logged in.
11. YOUR SPECIALIST ARTFORM CATEGORIES
When registered, you can at any time choose and be listed in up to 3 'artforms'
that you specialise in. If you choose more than one 'artform', your
'strip-profile' will appear in each of those 'artform' listings. For this reason
and for the 'viewer', your 'strip-profile' should show at least one introductory
example image of each 'artform' that you have chosen.
When choosing your specialist 'medium' and 'subject' categories, you should only
pick those that you actually specialise in and that will predominantly relate to
actual work that you have showing on the website.
The above is to ensure that viewers using the artistsdirectory.co.uk website are
able to view examples of the kind of work they are searching for via the
'artform' listings and 'search art/artist by category' search fields.
Because of this, you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves
the right to at any time:- 1. Deselect any of your chosen specialist 'artforms'
if any you have chosen do not relate in any way to the images/work that you have
showing on your 'strip-profile'. 2. Change any image that you have showing on
your 'strip-profile' via your image library if any that you have showing do not
relate to your specialist chosen artforms. 3. Deselect any of your chosen
specialist 'medium and subject' categories if any that you have chosen do not
relate in any way or generally do not relate predominantly enough to the images/
work that you have showing among your viewable details.
12. YOUR VIEWABLE IMAGES
When registered, apart from if you wish to show an image of yourself as part of
your profile on your main 'gallery/profile page', you may only show images of artistic/creative
work. Therefore you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the
right to delete/remove any images of those registered that artistsdirectory.co.uk
solely alone judge as not being in any way of an artistic/creative nature or representing
an artistic/creative form.
13. PHOTOGRAPHY AS AN ARTFORM
Photography is limited to particular artistic subject matter of which the current
list can be viewed via the 'search art/artist by category' button on the home page.
You cannot register under the guise of photography and show common everyday subject
matter such as images of holidays/family/friends//occasions etc or any images that
would normally be regarded as not being of an artistic nature.
Therefore you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the right
to remove/delete from the website anyone registered that chooses photography as
their specialist artform and shows images that artistsdirectory.co.uk solely alone
judge as not being in any way of an artistic nature.
14. COMPETENT AMATEURS
As an amateur, you should only register if you have a volume of work in whatever
its form or subject matter that shows an obvious visual degree of competent artistic/creative
ability and that could be regarded as visually interesting to those using the artistsdirectory.co.uk
website to view particular artforms or specific categories of medium and/or subject
matter an artform.
Therefore, you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the right
to change any images showing on the introductory 'strip-profile' listings of anyone
registered that artistsdirectory.co.uk solely alone judge as generally not being
artistically or creatively competent enough to be initially visually interesting
to viewers of the website.
You also acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the right to
remove/delete from the website anyone registered showing images of work that artistsdirectory.co.uk
solely alone judge as generally not being artistically or creatively competent enough
in their volume to be of any visual interest to viewers of the website.
15. VIEWABLE CONTACT DETAILS
When registered, showing your email address, personal website address, telephone
number/s, postal address or any other form of personal contact details that you
choose to have showing will be at your own discretion and risk. Therefore you acknowledge
and agree that artisisdirectory.co.uk cannot be responsible or liable for any unsolicited
correspondence you may receive or for anything that may happen as a result of others
contacting you through any viewable contact details that you choose to have showing.
As artistsdirectory.co.uk has no involvement and charges no fees if you are commissioned
or sell any work through being contacted via any contact details you choose to have
showing, you therefore acknowledge and agree that artisisdirectory.co.uk cannot
be responsible or liable for any loss or damages to artworks or monies involved
in any transactions between yourself and anyone contacting you via the website to
commission or purchase.
16. VIEWING EXTERNAL LINKS
artistsdirectory.co.uk does not imply any endorsements of resources, products or
the services of any viewable websites via any of the links on the artistsdirectory.co.uk
website such as art related links on the home page and personal website links of
those registered. Therefore you acknowledge sole responsibility for and assume all
risk arising from your use of any such websites and resources and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk
cannot be responsible or liable for anything that may happen as a result of that
use.
17. CONTACTING THOSE REGISTERED
artistsdirectory.co.uk does not imply any endorsements of those registered in way
of their work or services. Therefore you acknowledge sole responsibility for and
assume all risk arising from your use of any of the contact details of those registered
and also acknowledge and agree that artisisdirectory.co.uk cannot be responsible
or liable for anything that may happen as a result of you contacting those registered
through whatever contact details they choose to have showing.
As artistsdirectory.co.uk has no involvement and charges no fees if you commission
or purchase any work through contacting any of those registered, you acknowledge
and agree that artisisdirectory.co.uk cannot be responsible or liable for any loss
or damages to artworks or monies involved in any such transactions between yourself
and any of those registered.
18. COPYRIGHT
When registered, artistsdirectory.co.uk does not claim any form of copyright or
ownership over any of your images that you have showing on the website. Images lawfully
owned by you that you have showing on the website will be copyright to you, i.e.
to the name of the 'registered artist' they relate to. (This is also mentioned as
part of the copyright copy at the bottom of all 'strip-profile' results pages on
the website.)
You may only show images on the artistsdirectory.co.uk website that are
copyright to you, i.e. images of your own creation or lawfully owned by you.
Therefore you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the
right to remove/delete with no refund of any purchased extra gallery pages
anyone registered deemed to be showing images that are the copyright of others.
(If you wish, via your 'image library' account step when logged in, you will be
able to include i.e.'Copyright© your name 2009' to show alongside any of your images
as part of their picture details when they are clicked to enlarge by viewers of
the website.)
As artistsdirectory.co.uk is not the publisher and merely provides a website platform for those registered to show images of their
work, it cannot be responsible or liable for any form of copyright infringement in way of any images showing on the viewable
details of those registered. Should you believe that any images showing are not copyright to the name of the 'registered artist'
they relate to, we ask that you contact artistsdirectory.co.uk with details of the copyright infringement including the name of the
'registered artist' and any contact details.
19. OFFENSIVE MATERIAL
When registered, You may not show images, text, or websites via links that would
normally be regarded as offensive. Therefore you acknowledge and agree that
artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the right to remove/delete any images, text or
links to other websites of anyone registered that artistsdirectory.co.uk solely
alone judge as being visually or verbally offensive such as pornographic,
racist, obscene, violent or lewd material. You also acknowledge and agree that
artistsdirectory.co.uk reserves the right to remove/delete anyone registered
that blatantly disregards this.
20. TECHNICAL
You will need to ensure that your computers web browser is capable enough for usability
of the website, as older versions of web browsers may not be designed to cope with
basic current website technology which may result in pages among websites not viewing
or working properly. We recommend that you keep updated and download the latest
versions of your web browser that are compatible with your computers operating system.
(Web browsers and their updates are free to download.)
We would also recommend downloading and using Mozilla 'Firefox' which is generally
regarded as an excellent web browser and that by default upgrades/updates itself.
You will also need to ensure that your computers operating system is up to date
enough for usability of the later versions of web browsers. If unsure, you should
contact the supplier or manufacturer of your computer.
Out of the most commonly used web browsers and for optimum use of the website, we
recommend that your web browser should be at least the following:-
Explorer 6 or higher
Safari 3 or higher
Firefox 2 or higher.
21. AVAILABILITY/MAINTENANCE
artistsdirectory.co.uk may occasionally have to go off air and be unavailable for
brief periods of time due to routine maintenance and upgrades. Therefore you acknowledge
and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk cannot be responsible or liable for any form
of loss due to unavailability during any such periods.
22. SECURITY
Although the utmost is done to ensure security of the website, internet security
is a complex issue and no system can be considered 100% secure. Should a security
breach occur we would endeavour to react as quickly as possible to remedy the problem,
however, you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk cannot assume responsibility
or be liable for anything that may happen as a result of registered details being
compromised in the unlikely event of a security breach.
23. FUTURE
Although artistsdirectory.co.uk has been created with the aim of it also
becoming a future archive, the life span and longevity of the website obviously
cannot be stipulated or guaranteed in any way simply through being unable to
foresee any future circumstances or events that may possibly prohibit that aim.
Therefore you acknowledge and agree that artistsdirectory.co.uk cannot be
responsible or liable to reimburse the cost of any extra gallery pages or any
form of loss if the website becomes unavailable or is deleted or destroyed due
to any circumstances or events on the internet infrastructure that are outside
of its control.
You acknowledge that artistsdirectory.co.uk cannot be responsible for any form of
loss should you need to re-upload images and/or re-create worded details in the
extremely unlikely event of them being lost or deleted from your viewable details
because of a technical aberration..Should any such extremely unlikely event occur
and 'all' of your registered and viewable details are lost or deleted from the website,
you also acknowledge that artistsdirectory.co.uk cannot be responsible or liable
for any form of loss other than to reimburse by way of supplying free registration
and free extra gallery pages to re-create them.
