I turned my hobby in ceramics into a more full time pursuit when I retired as an architect. I made functional stoneware to sell at craft-fairs and open days.
I was soon fascinated, however, in the magical way clay responds to the energy applied by the potter and by the firing method. I moved to Cornwall in 1996 and made pots from the textures of the rocks and trees around me, imprinting the soft clay with nature’s designs. I return to making more conventional pieces from time to time.
