I create unique handmade felt wall hangings taking my inspiration from the ferocious power of the waves to the hypnotic quality of calm waters. My individual method of feltmaking results in tactile and dramatic seascapes, rich in texture and depth. I liken the process to painting; much thought is given to the laying down of colour and fibre as I step back to view its progress.

I had lived in London all my life specialising as packaging designer working with the relationship between creative typography and illustration, colour and texture. A few years ago we packed our bags and moved to Brighton. The sea has always held a special place for me and actually living by the sea, being with it every day is refreshing and stimulating. It was here that my love for the waves really inspired me not only creatively but physically too.

The process of feltmaking was revealed to me while attending a children's art day with my kids at the Brighton Museum. We returned home and together created a large scale felt wall hanging for our living room... and my passion grew from there. My life now harmoniously revolves around designing, felt making and surfing!

My felt art is either freehanging or canvas mounted. The larger freehanging pieces allow you to fully appreciate the random nature of felt making by its irregular edges. The smaller wall art is wrapped around a canvas creating a cleaner finish. These look stunning as stand alone pieces or as a dynamic set of contrasting colours.
