Lynne Chapman has been a freelance illustrator for over 25 years, previously working in the Editorial industry, but specialising in children's picture books for the last 12 years. She has over 30 published books, which you can see on her website.

Lynne's picture books are drawn in pastels. You can read detailed descriptions of how her illustrations are designed and created, as well as how the world of children's book publishing works, on her blog at http://lynnechapman.blogspot.com.

When not in her studio, Lynne travels the UK giving talks, running workshops and doing storytellings for children. She is also a regular participant in a wide range of literary festivals including Edinburgh, Cheltenham and Hay. They are not simply a visual record of a location: every drawing is forever imbued with all the sounds, smells and small happenings that surrounded her while she sketched.
